the wild stage
Welcome to The Wild Stage, a collision of emotions, desires and energy flows. Loosely inspired by the motif of the dream city Mahagonny from Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's opera, oester dives into the need to escape: from our confusing times, from the need to understand everything when chaos reigns.
The Wild Stage embraces the differences between performers Casper Clausen, Timo Tembuyser, Jon Birdsong, Pieter Theuns, Adriaan de Roover, Matteo Sedda, Rob Hayden, Gustav Königs and Mustav Ahmeti. Singers and musicians become dancers, and vice versa, with the performers constantly meeting the other again and searching for commonality. Together, they create a stream of soundscapes and imagery inviting you into a universe oscillating between pop, baroque and electronica, between contemporary and classical.

“A feast for the ears. A mesmerising trumpet solo opens the show and sets the tone for an immersive listening experience. A not so obvious combination of genres and instruments (electronics meets baroque) creates a strikingly fresh sound.”

“The Wild Stage is a bold, clever answer - or rather a very inventive remake - of the opera (Mahagonny).”
